Trippy

About 2 or 3 years ago, my bro saved a kitten from certain death. My bro found the kitten at the ground floor of his apartment missing a leg and also its tail. My bro took it to the vet and the vet said it doesn't look good. They will keep her for the night and if she doesn't get any worst then they will keep her alive or not they will put her to sleep. Lucky she was a strong one and she pulled through the night and now she is my bro's pet cat aptly name Trippy.

These are some of the pictures that I took when my bro first brought her home.

This picture was taken after we gave her her first bath. She wasn't too happy by the looks of it.
She was such a cute cat but we always think there is something wrong with Trippy. She doesn't respond to anything other then the sound of food rattling in her tupperware. You can call her, make noise and everything but somehow she doesn't respond to it. I think it is due to her traumatic start to life.

One thing is for sure is that she is very loyal to my brother. She has been my bro's pet for a good 2 or 3 years and even she has seen me a lot of times but she still runs away when she sees me. Well I am not a really good example since kids run away and cry when they see me too. But Trippy always runs away from Amy. As for my bro, everytime he goes out and comes back, Trippy will come looking for him.

On my recent trip to Penang, my bro gave me the keys to his place and we let ourselves in. When we walked into the house Trippy ran down from the upstairs thinking my bro has come home. However after seeing me she fled upstairs again. At around 5.30pm when my bro usually comes home from work, she walked down and stayed at the front gate starring outwards.

She is a loyal cat but only to my bro. However she still does scratch and bite him. :)

Underwater World Langkawi

I always think I wasn't meant to be born a human and in the wrong country. I love the water and I especially love the sea. Just give me swimming pool or the beach and I will be in the water in no time. I also like to go to Underwater worlds around the world. I have been to the London Aquarium, Aquaria KLCC, Underwater World Sydney, Aqua Underwater in Perth and now finally Underwater World Langkawi. I heard that underwater world Langkawi is even better then Aquaria at KLCC but also recently they had some incident where some the fishes were poisoned.

There were still alot of fishes in their tanks and some of them were still pretty huge

Alligator Gar Fish
Cat fish
Not only did they have fishes, they also had some really cute raccoon like animal. I have no idea what they are, I was too busy taking photos as they ran around.

Underwater world Langkawi also has a healthy population of penguins. They have 2 types of penguins which are the Rockhopper penguins like the ones in Surf Up and also some African Penguins. The cool thing is you get to walk into a section where the penguins are swimming above you head.

Curiously the penguin was actually following my finger when I put it to the glass. I was running up and down the tube and it was following me seamlessly.

Next we entered the small tank section where most of the fishes are in. They are segregated by type of fish and there was all kinds of fish there.

Red Discus
Lion Fish
Lion Fish
Angel Fish

Box Fish
Eel
Finally we reach to the highlight of all aquariums which is the tube section. Underwater Langkawi didn't have tube section per say but it did have a section where you can walk in the water where the fish is able to swim above you. After all it is called underwater world. The only thing is it wasn't in a circular tube but more of a box tube. They had the most humongous garupa I have ever seen.

They also has some eagle rays in the tank

and of course no aquarium is complete without sharks. However I think due to the poisoning there weren't many big sharks there.

I enjoyed myself at the Underwater world Langkawi. I would recommend anyone coming to Langkawi to give it a go. Make sure you show your MyKad to get discounts.

Meat Eater

The Langkawi Cable car entrance is actually at the Oriental Village. Around the Oriental Village, there are many shops selling souvenirs and also some food. While we were Segway-ing around and we found out that the Oriental Village has a pet tiger. Zanah as she is called is a Malayan tiger that was brought to the Oriental village in February 2010 to commemorate the year of the tiger.

Entrance to the exhibit is surprisingly FREE of charge. Yes you heard it correctly it is free to enter but you have give a 10 ringgit donation if you want to take pictures, 100 ringgit to take pictures that is unobstructed by a tinted window and 150 ringgit if you want the chance to feed her yourself. Seeing that the 10 ringgit will go to the care of the Zanah I decided to donate some money and take some pictures.

Initially she was very shy and was staying way back from the viewing window.

Since I donated 10 ringgit and we were the only people at the exhibit, her trainer decided to attract Zanah's attention. She went outside of the exhibit and tried to call her name but to no avail. Then she went to the feeding area to try to attract her nearer but also to no avail. Finally she ask another person to spray some water in her direction but guess what? To no avail as well, finally the trainer decides to go out and call her name again and in a matter of seconds she was right in front of us.

Later she walked in front of us and lied down and showed herself off.

It was 10 ringgit well worth it for the service we got and on the way out I decided to donate another 10 bucks.

Just outside the Zanah's exhibit I saw a nice place to do some portraiture. So decided to take some pictures of another meat eater. Well actually she is an omnivore and not as dangerous as Zanah. Well actually depends on how you treat her. Haha

The light was just perfect and it has views of Mount MatChingChang at the back. Had to take the opportunity to take some pictures.

Gunung Mat Chinchang

After all the Segway fun, we finally managed to take the cable car up to Gunung Mat ChinChang. As said in the previous post it is one of the most popular attractions in Langkawi. The only crap thing was just as we got into the cable car, I got a call from a customer and basically I spent the whole journey up talking to my customer on the phone. It is times like this I wished Maxis didn't have that good coverage.

The cable car is split into 2 levels and the first level is where we really accent the mountain. On reaching the first level, we decided to head to the second level before the weather came in. At the second level is where you have the suspended bridge between 2 peaks of Gunung Mat Chinchang.

We crossed the suspended bridge and it was some spectacular views from the top.

We were suspended more then 100 meters from the ground which is actually the valley in between both peaks.

We spent about an hour or so on top and I shot some pictures of Amy.

Finally we decided that the weather was coming in and it looks like it was going to rain. So reluctantly we we back down to the second level to take some photos and look around.

Just as we were about to head down, the weather did come in and the clouds start to surround the peaks. So we decided to take the next cable car down then get stuck up there in the mountain.

I would have to say the Langkawi Cable car is a world class event and it definitely a place worth visiting when going to Langkawi.
