One One Three Seafood

For a while now I was told by many people that Sepang and Dengkil area has some good and "cheap" seafood restaurants. Never knew where they were at all. Since we were over in Putrajaya for the International Dragon Boat race, we decided to head to Dengkil for some seafood.

Armed with Tirath's GPS nicknamed Nokia, we followed the silky voice of Nokia to One One Three Seafood. Now seriously without the GPS I would have never ever found this place. It is pretty much in the middle of no where and there is this big seafood restaurant.

We go there and all of us were hungry.

We were so hungry and we just ran for the nearest empty seat and didn't even realised that there was actually an air conditioned area. After we discovered the A/C area we were so tired that we decided to just sit where we were and enjoy the food. We ordered steam fish, tofu, special roast chicken and a veg dish.

The food came pretty fast and it actually taste pretty good. However we realised we were looking for seafood and only ordered one seafood related dish. The fish was nice and fresh albeit a little huge for 4 people. The roast chicken was pretty interesting as the skin was crispy and they covered it with some lemon/lime sauce. Highly recommended if you ever able to find it.

I didn't think it was all that cheap as in the end it cost us something like 60+bucks for the 4 dishes. However we were satisfied with the food and all we cared about was heading back home to shower and take a nap. Haha. Guess that also explains the "Abang Punya badan lebih lemak"

How you know you are overweight?

There are alot of scales and guides and talk about Body Mass Index and what not to tell you if you are overweight or not. Those are scientific methods and more often then not are idealised ways to measure if a person is overweight. However the only way to know you are trully overweight is when a blind person tell you that you are overweight. That is the ultimate warning sign.

I went for a bling massage recently and while the guy was massaging my back said:

Guy massaging me:   Abang ada buat senaman ke?
Me                      :   Ada main badminton.
Guy Massaging me: Oh! Badan abang terlebih lemak lah
Me                      :  Tapi saya setiap hari Ahad ada main badminton

That is when I know I am overweight. What added insult to injury was he said "Main Badminton Bagus. Biasanye orang main badminton badan tegap". Oh yea he wasn't talking about me.

I was like WHAT!!!!

.
Yea looks like cannot keep on using camera trick to make me look thin already. Need to really work the fat out.

Pullman Putrajaya

The Putrajaya International Dragon Boat festival was held directly beside the Pullman Putrajaya. I have never been to the Pullman Putrajaya and never know how beautiful it is. Half way through the festival we decided to walk towards the Pullman to check it out.

Just before reaching Pullman there was like a man made beach kinda like Sentosa. However the sand here is much softer.

Steph was telling about how Pullman was actually build to have 4 different areas within the hotel itself. I think we walked into the Balinese section and it is really nice.

We walked to towards the "gazebo" and we could see across to what I think is the Maldives part of the hotel.

We didn't walk to the other 2 sections of the hotel but on the way out we saw a WII room. We decided to check it out to see if it was open. To our surprised it was open, the A/C was at full blast and it has a huge projector there with the WII turned on. We decided to just sit around and enjoy the A/C and after awhile Tirath and I decided to turn the WII on. Steph went to the toilet and about 2 min into turning on the WII we saw a hotel person walking around.

He walked into the adjacent kids room and Steph walked to the WII room and told us about the guy. I said that if he comes in I would say that I am a guest at the hotel and my room is 1304. Tiriah said he is there waiting for a friend who is a guest at the hotel. Steph didn't have a story.

The guy did finally walk into the WII room and asked us if we are guest at the hotel. I straight away said yes and Steph stumbled a yes. The guy went on to ask what room we were and we all stumbled with the answer. Unfortunately after that we got kicked out of the WII room and the only source of A/C.

We walked around a little while more and went back to the Dragon Boat race.

Water, Paddles and big gun

Last weekend Steph asked me to wake up at 7am on a Saturday to go to Putrajaya. Seeing that Steph doesn't usually wake up that early on the weekends I was thinking it should be something good. So I woke up and went for...

Before we can do anything, we first need to get some breakfast. We were suppose to meet up with some of Steph's gym buddies at McDonalds in Taipan but since we were late they left without us. We ended up getting some KFC.

I also had the toasted twister and man it is actually taste pretty good. It is like a wrap with chicken sausage, scrambled egg, hashbrown and pepper. It is like a big breakfast in a wrap. It was a great breakfast I thought. Steph was getting irriated that she was driving over 45 min and she was still in Subang. She passed me her car keys and off we went.

We kinda got lost for a bit but after a few u turns, we found the place. As we walked in, something I would not expect is the atmosphere. When Steph first told me about this, I was thinking it is some local event in Putrajaya and there won't be many people around. However to my surprise it was such a big international event. They even got an Ang Moh to do the commentating and it had a very F1 feel to the atmosphere. What trully shocked me was the amount of overseas participation.

There were teams from Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Phillipines, Australia and even Great Britain. Some of the countries were actually represented by a few teams. There were also alot of independant teams and one of the conditions for me to tag along was to wear something in orange. We were there mainly to be the cheerleaders for the Splashers which were an independant, semi professional team that was competing.

What strikes me about these team is the team spirit attitude and they were going up against tough competitors who are professionals in the sport. The team is mainly made out of women which is another surprising thing. The were cheery bunch of people and even when they didn't win, they got out of the boat and still clapped, congragulated and hugged each other.

After the race, they took sometime to calm down, to dry their gears, get some food and drinks and they had a debrief session. I was there "pat kua" and being a pesky photographer.

We had a great time walking around the place taking pictures and watching the other teams compete with each other. Even this kid was enjoying himself.

Now some pictures of the other teams that were competiting in the competition.

There were quite alot of people cheering their team on and this lady in particular caught my eye

She was quite ghairah and after taking a picture of her, I turned around and something caught my eye which is totally "out of place".

The other thing that needs some noting is how beautiful the control tower, media center, announcer center and also the judge center was. It sticks out majestically very close to the lake and it kinda looks like the Burj Al Arab.

Now we for sure cannot forget the cheerleaders who where there.

Remember how I was saying that it had a F1 atmosphere? Well take a look for yourself and judge.

Need I say more :). One thing I forgot was when we walked into the venue I saw some floating numbers in the water.

I actually thought it was the starting line. However it found out later that it was actually the finishing line. It was quite evident when someone rammed into one of the numbers towards midday.

Over all I had a really great time. I was running around taking pictures and just soaking up the atmosphere. I have to thank Steph for asking me to go because if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't even know about this event. I will hope to be back next year and hopefully the event would be even bigger then this year.
